Foster Announced as April 23 Hot Shot

Jack Foster, son of Kevin and Lisa Foster of Hawarden, has been named the April 23, 2022 Hot Shot.  Jack is 15 years old and loves sports, animals and music.  He even owns a business raising Labrador Retrievers.  Jack was born with Down syndrome and has been working hard with speech therapy to help him form words more clearly and become more understandable.

Down syndrome is a condition in which a person has an extra chromosome, which changes how a baby’s body and brain develop, which can cause both mental and physical challenges.  Down syndrome is a lifelong condition and seeking services early can help children develop to their full potential.  Each year, about 6,000 babies are born in the US with Down syndrome, or about 1 in every 700 births.

Please join us in celebrating Jack, our April 23 Hot Shot!

The Sioux City Musketeers, in partnership with Floyd Valley Healthcare (FVH) began the Hot Shots program in 2018.  This program was created with the goal of honoring FVH pediatric patients who have chronic health issues. We are excited to give children an opportunity to have a fun time with their family, cheer on the team and just enjoy being a kid for a night.
