Bahr Announced as November Hot Shot

Steven Bahr, son of Michael and Jennifer Bahr, will be honored as a Floyd Valley Healthcare Hot Shot for the November 2nd Musketeer game against the Fargo Force.  Steven is happy and energetic seven year old that is outgoing and friendly.  In addition to seeing his pediatrician, Dr. Jolene Meis, he also works with the physical and occupational therapists at Floyd Valley Healthcare.

Steven has been diagnosed with gastroparesis.  Gastroparesis is a condition that slows the movement of food from the stomach to the small intestine.  Symptoms can include pain in the abdomen, burning in the chest, nausea, indigestion, vomiting and feeling full sooner than normal.  This is a rare condition, with less than 200,000 cases per year.  It is not curable, but symptoms can be managed with proper medical care including therapy.

Please join us in celebrating Steven, our November Hot Shot!

The Sioux City Musketeers, in partnership with Floyd Valley Healthcare (FVH) began the Hot Shots program in 2018.  This program was created with the goal of honoring FVH pediatric patients who have chronic health issues. We are excited to give children an opportunity to have a fun time with their family, cheer on the team and just enjoy being a kid for a night.
