The Emergency Department is available at Floyd Valley Healthcare 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Parking is available for Emergency Department (ED) patients and families on the east side of the building and patients need to enter the East Entrance.
Patients should report to the ED for any medical concern that could be an acute medical emergency, including chest pain, difficulty breathing, stroke symptoms, sudden pain, loss of consciousness, large cuts, bleeding or broken bones.
If you have an emergency or need an ambulance, dial 9-1-1. Calling 9-1-1 is almost always the fastest way to get lifesaving treatment.
Another resource available through Avera is the Ask-A-Nurse telephone service. Avera nurses will ask you questions about what is going on with you or your child and help you decide how soon you should be seen. Ask-A-Nurse services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 1-800-658-3535.
