Floyd Valley Healthcare Recognized by Chartis as a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital

Floyd Valley Healthcare announced it has been named among the 2025 Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals by The Chartis Center for Rural Health. Chartis’ annual Top 100 award program honors outstanding performance among the nation’s rural hospitals based on the results of the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX®.
“It is always an honor to receive this recognition. To be listed in the Top 100 is a direct reflection of our amazing team,” stated Dustin Wright, Floyd Valley Healthcare CEO. “Nationally there are 1,371 CAH with Iowa having the 2nd highest number of CAH with 82 facilities. So even being listed among top performers in Iowa would be an accomplishment, let alone the entire country. Sustaining this level of success is not easy but our team always steps up to the challenge. Ultimately, this is a great win for our communities and displays our growing market share and presence within NW Iowa. This recognition assesses our performance in inpatient market share, outpatient market share, quality, outcomes, patient perspective, cost, charge and finances. Bottom line, we are providing high quality care and our goal will remain to keep care local and expand services. I could not be more proud of our team’s effort!”
The INDEX is the industry’s most comprehensive and objective assessment of rural hospital performance. Leveraging publicly available data, the INDEX is utilized nationwide by rural hospitals, health systems with rural affiliates, hospital associations, and state offices of rural health to measure and monitor performance across a variety of areas impacting hospital operations and finance.
