Hair Announced as April 3 Hot Shot

Autumn Hair, daughter of Shane and Jana, has been named the April 3 Hot Shot.  Autumn is 8 years old and is caring, outgoing and always willing to help.  She enjoys animals (especially horses), singing, dancing swimming and just about everything and anything.  She enjoyed working with her speech therapist that helped treat her childhood apraxia of speech (CAS).

CAS is a rare speech sound disorder causing someone to have trouble saying what he or she wants to say correctly and consistently. CAS is a neurological disorder that affects the brain pathways involved in planning the sequence of movements involved in producing speech. The brain knows what it wants to say, but cannot properly plan and sequence the required speech sound movements.  While the exact number is unknown, it is estimated that one or two children out of every 1,000 may have the disorder.

Please join us in celebrating Autumn, our April 3 Hot Shot!

The Sioux City Musketeers, in partnership with Floyd Valley Healthcare (FVH) began the Hot Shots program in 2018.  This program was created with the goal of honoring FVH pediatric patients who have chronic health issues. We are excited to give children an opportunity to have a fun time with their family, cheer on the team and just enjoy being a kid for a night.
